Adaptation and tradition are the guarantee of l?existence d'un art always living in evolution. The art of the zellij is an art probably derived from the made mosaic byzantine coloured stones and from smalts. But the zellij is a product more specifically artisanal from the modesty of its origin and the skill of which it is necessary to make proof to work it. They are in fact squares terra cotta 10 X 10 centimetres covered with enamel.

 These squares are cut manually using heavy hammers (menqach) which contrast with the delicacy of the parts obtained. These parts, by a play of erudite puzzle, make then a reason which obeys the traditional rules of the regulating layouts, disciplines, repeat of any Islamic art.
