The technique of the square of zellige excized, also testifies to
a great virtuosity of execution. This type of zelliges is usually used for all
the delicate reasons posed in higher edges of panels of zelliges, particularly
penmanship. The enamelled ground squares, are finely engraved with (manquach).
The craftsman thus makes jump enamel
and the decoration appears by the play of the covered parts of enamel arising on
the natural terra cotta thus stripped.
